About Soul-Centered Coaching
Soul-centered coaching is grounded in several psychological frameworks. It draws from:
Depth Psychology, which explores the unconscious mind, emphasizing the role of hidden emotions, memories, and archetypes in shaping human behavior and experiences. It originated in the early 20th century through the work of Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung, who both sought to understand the deeper layers of the psyche beyond conscious awareness.
Transpersonal Psychology, which explores human experiences beyond the individual ego, incorporating spirituality, altered states of consciousness, and personal transformation. It emerged in the late 1960s as a response to traditional psychology’s focus on pathology, with pioneers like Stanislav Grof, Abraham Maslow, and others emphasizing the importance of higher states of consciousness and self-actualization.
Archetypal Psychology, which was developed by James Hillman that builds on Carl Jung’s concept of archetypes but shifts the focus from personal development to a more mythological and imaginative understanding of the psyche. It emphasizes the power of images, myths, and narratives in shaping human experience, suggesting that our lives are deeply influenced by universal patterns or archetypes that exist in the collective unconscious.
Typically, our sessions begin with a few grounding breaths with your eyes closed, just to help you get centered. We will then chat for a few minutes about what is going on with you and what you would like to focus on for our session. Then, most of the remainder of our session will take place with your eyes closed, as I guide you to your own answers using various techniques founded in the aforementioned areas of psychologies. hypnotherapeutic and coaching techniques.
Working with clients, I can guide them on a transformative inner journey using somatic, symbolic, and shamanic methods.
